Several years ago, my husband and I found ourselves on the shores of Asbury Park, NJ, surrounded by the magic of a perfect fall beachscape. The moon graced the sky, casting its gentle glow well before the nightfall. It was a night that resonated with the harmonious notes of our favorite musicians performing at Sea, Hear, Now.
The ocean waves, unusually high that day, left behind these picturesque little pools of water on the sandy shore. Within these serene pockets, we and fellow music aficionados swayed and splashed to the rhythm of the melodies that filled the air. The atmosphere was brimming with positivity, a collective feeling of gratitude and joy.
It marked a significant moment in time, as it was our first live music event since the pandemic had brought the world to a standstill. We all stood together, appreciating the music and the freedom to be there.
Inspired by that unforgettable night, I wanted to capture the essence of music and the beach, so I created the Mermaid Musician design. This shower curtain features a beautiful mermaid immersed in the melody, a perfect reminder of the harmony, joy, and unity we experienced that night. It serves as a symbol of the enduring connection between music and the sea, an everlasting reminder of that perfect September evening by the shore.
